For Morgana

Clark liked his job. It made it easy for him to still attend community college and help out on the farm. It was considerably smaller now after his father died. His mother had insisted on it, even though Clark had insisted that he could keep up the farm and do all his school work but she wouldn't hear it. She had insisted that he have something of a social life, even though most days Clark was fairly sure that most days he'd be just fine missing out on that.

"People are great, but hard to interact with, right?" Clark asked, reaching out to pet the large horse in front of him. He leaned in a bit more to let it snuff at him before he held out his arm to take a selfie of himself and the horse. It was less a selfie and more of a "horsie" - which sounded weird - though so he took a few more pictures of just the horse before he sent them off to Morgana.

Clark's father had helped Morgana's dad pick out horses when they were younger. Apparently they'd been friends for years right up to when Morgana's father had died. Jonathan had continued to look after the horses for Morgana and when he died Clark took over the job. Honestly he thought that she probably could have gotten someone else to do it for her but the money was definitely appreciated. Sometimes Clark wondered if Morgana wasn't doing it just to help out- like Jonathan had done when she had died.

Either way, Clark was grateful for the job. Which is another reason why he'd never approached her about the fact that he knew she sometimes came to visit the horses in the middle of the night. Normally that wouldn't be a problem except that she lived in England. And the only reason that he knew she had come because of his super hearing, so it would be an awkward conversation at best.

But what if? What if Morgana could do that because she was like him? He couldn't not at least look into it a little bit. From everything that he could tell Morgana was human, although he was sure that to x-ray and microscopic vision he might appear the same way.

So Clark had decided to leave it in Morgana's hands. That night before heading in Clark hung a bag of apples on a post where she'd be sure to see it in the stables. On it was pinned a note:

M-

I didn't give them a treat today. I figured you might like to do it tonight.

If she wanted to talk to him about it then she could. If not... then he would just let it go. For now.
