Metropolis was big. Really big. It didn't matter that Clark had seen the entire world from space he was still a small town boy from Kansas and the big city seemed absolutely massive to him. His first few days he'd been here it was spend rubbernecking and looking up at all the buildings and the sky. Clark wasn't sure how he was the only one that was staring up at everything.

Maybe it was because he kept tripping over and bumping into things while looking up? Still, it was pretty much worth it. The best sight of course was the Daily Planet building and the giant golden globe that was at the top of it. He'd flown up there a few days ago one night to admire it up close. Maybe one day with a little luck and a lot of hard work he'd be there.

For now he was in the lounge of the student newspaper. He'd transferred into Metropolis University after completing community college. It seemed like he had so many options ahead of him about what he could do or be and Ma had told him that Smallville wasn't the place to find that out. So he'd come to MU for his junior year of college. One of his professor had thought that his writing was decent and suggested that he join the school newspaper.

Clark thought it was a great idea since he seemed to have a lot of free time on his hand without being home to help with the chores as much or extra curricular activities like sports. Also he didn't have any friends yet, so lots of time to help out at the newspaper.

Asking around about the editor all he was told by people was "good luck!" and "bring coffee". While that wasn't really helpful Clark did show up to what passed for the bullpen at the school paper with coffee and an eagerness to learn. Pushing his glasses up on his nose he looked around to try and find where he should go. At the end of the room was a door marked "editor" so he shrugged and headed over to it, knocking and waiting for an answer.
